The past few days have been a bit of a struggle. I’ve been having a hard time keeping food down, I’m still having trouble withdrawing from one of my medications. But I’m almost there, it won’t be long now.

I had a blessed Father’s day Sunday. I received some really nice cards and an iPod so now I have something to put tons of my favorite music on. I can watch movies on it too. We had a good time at church where they honored the fathers and had lots of deep prayer. The highlight of my day was my son Frederick, IV came by for a visit. It’s been years since he’s been by so it was real speical to me. He’s 26 now and still has a chance to fullfill his dream of becoming a police officer. I’m proud of him and the way he’s grown-up without getting into trouble. When so many kids are getting into it with the law these days, he’s a real blessing to me. Thank you Jesus!

Where did June go ?! Sumer is finally here, and here comes the rain. Praying for the sunshine fo’ real. Ericka’s cousin Lesley flew in this morning from PA. She’s about a year older than Ericka, and they et along like twins. Lesley will be here for about a month so they’ll have lots of time to fun it up.

I’ve been recording tracks this past week and I’m geting encouraged more and more everyday. Diana, Ericka and I sang at church Sunday for special music. We sang “The Family of God” one of our originals. We had a great time doing that, that’s encouraging to me, so I plan to get some more tracks recorded this week. Thank all of you for your many prayers every little prayer helps.

Have a blessed week,

Frederick

Erickas almost done with school. Huray!!! She only has a half a day on Monday and then she’s done. Her graduation last night was a lot of fun. She got a number of award certificates for different accomplishments for the school year. When they called her name a bunch of her friends, plus her mom and dad including grandma and friends, yelled our heads off. A lot of her classmates got loud too. Then the wife and I took her out to diinner at the Outback. So she had a good time. She was dressed up so nice, hair done and all.

I recorded some guitar tracks today, and it felt so good. Now I have an outline to work on, and hope to get to that this weekend.

I’m looking forward to Father’s day Sunday. Can’t wait really. I plan to have a great time with my family after a good time in church service. I guess I’ll call my dad and wish him a blessed Father’s day. We haven’t spoken to each other for a while. My son Frederick, IV is supposed to come out and visit. I’m looking forward to that espeically.

My body is feeling stronger now a days. My balance is improving. I can tell by the different excerises I’m doing. They become easier to do and I’m at a point where I need to increase the number of reps. I praise God for improvement!!!!

Happy Father’s day to all you fathers, God bless,

Frederick

Good day, today. Went for my walk at the mall and was able to keep my breakfast down. I’ve been strugglng with stomach problems the past few days. I’m much better now.

Ericka is graduating from middle school at a ceremony being held at her school tonight. Her grama Robbie is gonna be there too. My little girl will be going to HS next year. Hurray!!! Diana and I are so proud of her. She’s done so well in school. She’s been practicing basketball with the JV team at Renton HS lately. I’m excited about that. I’d love to se her do well in that. Her big brother Jerrold is supposed to help her with some of the basics. That’ll be a blessing for sure. After her graduation we’re supposed to take her to dinner at Outback. That’s the place she picked and one of my favorie places to eat, Big family fun.

Father’s day is Sunday (it’s also the first day of summer) I’m looking forward to a great day. Every year I learn something new about fatherhood. A big thing this year was supporting my kids in the things they do. Helping them build self confidence. That’s so important these days. Our young people seem to have less encouragement day after day. Schools and communities are cutting back on programs for young people. It’s madness.

Well ECBF must have at least 5 or 6 guitarist in the church now, so I was thinking it would be great to get all of us together for a special music tune. That would be prowerful if done right. We’ll have to see, keeping that in prayer.

Summers almost here, will we have more mutliable sunny days? Hope so.

Have a blessed day in Christ,

Frederick

Well my Lakers are champs again. I’m not a Kobe fan, but a longtime Laker fan. The 5th game was rather boring, it’s like the Magic quit in the 2nd quarter. The last game wasn’t as tight and exciting as the earlier ones.

Had a good Sunday all in all. Church was great. A lot of good prayer. We called the youth up and prayed for them which is always a good thing. We prayed for folks that are battling depression, something I struggle with. Though I feel the Lord is dealing with me in that area. I’m learning to except what the Lord has allowed to enter my life so I can experience His best for me. I believe, in Jesus’ name, that in spite of having to live with cancer the Lord is blessing me in every area of my life.

I guess I’ll get ready to walk the mall and maybe go to the gym for a short workout on the bike. I have to go into the doctors office for blood work to prepare for an MRI in 6-weeks. Always something to do, but I can’t complain. I took my blood sugar and blood pressure this morning and everything looked good.

I’m hoping Diana and I can get away some place sometime this summer. I know she at least needs a break from me and all the pressure that comes with taking care of me in my condition. The Lord will provide to be sure my wife is taken care of. She deserves it and much more.

Whatever you do this week, stay blessed.

Love,

Frederick

The Lord has blessed us with another sunny day! I was able to get out in it and enjoy the rays. It was nice to roll around in the car looking at all the folks in the good weather. I even had the car run through the Brown Bear. Car looks good too.o

I walked the mall around 10:30 this morning and then went to RHF and did a few minutes on the bike. I figured I’d start off really slow and work myself up to more time. I’ve been doing some excerises too and have been feeling a little stronger already. It’s taking me less time to recover my energy after doing stuff like that. So that’s good.

Nothing much going on this weekend but I hope to get into more music projects by Sunday evening.

I spoke to my sister this morning to wish her a happy birthday. She sounded good, wish I could be there to clebrate with her. Maybe next year :) Talked to my brother too, on his way to work. He’s a principle at a middle school in south King county. School will be out for the summer in the next two weeks. When I worked for a school I realy looked forward to the summer vaction. Now I’m kinda on a permenant vaction :) :)

I’ve got my cold drink in hand and I’m ready to get to it :)

Peace,

Frederick

I’ve been surffing the internet a little this evening. I’m home alone for a little bit. Diana has taken Ericka to the church for youth night. They’re going to be have class outside since it’s so nice out tonight.

I think I’ll start going to the gym tomorrow after I walk the mall. I’ll start out doing a little at a time. A few minutes on a couple of machines at a time. Like the bike and maybe one other machine to start with. It’ll be cool to slowly get stronger in my body. I think it’ll help me overcome some of my depression too.

I need to start keeping a journal. I start them and then I don’t follow-up. Let’s see if I can keep it going this time. I’ve got lots to write about these days. Who reads those things anyway? Maybe my kids when I go to the big band in the sky :) ??? Anyway, journaling should help me to keep up with my prayer list too.

Anybody out there do Facebook. I have an account, and check it daily, but it’s kind of wierd to keep up with. Some folks can be really encouraging others trip a lot :) But it seems fun for the most part. I’m involved with a few blog like sites. Keeps me busy and it’s fun to get answers to your posts. I’m even involved with a online cancer support group “redtoenail.org”. At that site people with cancer can encourage one another by posting things that are on your mind and then folks with or without cancer make comments. It’s kinda cool.

Well I’m off t watch the reat of the local news.

God bless, until next time

Frederick

I started back with PT today.Went really well, I worked out pretty good. Today was a great day as far as my energy goes. I even went to Ericka’s basetball game this evening. She played with Renton HS with some older girls. The coach thinks she has a good chance to improve her game and become a pretty good player. She scored 4 points and played some good defense. I think they are going to play during the off season which will good toward develpoing her game. Her mom and I are really proud of her. Her brother Jerrold is very encouraging in giving her pointers and stuff.

The sun was out today, what a lovely evening. Not to hot, just right. It’s supposed to be nice the rest of the week I think. I plan to enjoy every bit of it.

My two sisters wil be here to visit me on July 16th. Can’t wait! I’ve got to drum up a number of things for us to do, to keep us busy. Shouldn’t be too hard. We’ll have a family gathering here at my house and get the grill going full force. I’l be glad when I get stronger and can travel so I can fly down south to visit my family. That’ll be exciting.

This week is flying by. All the weeks seem to be flying by lately. But I plan to get some stuff done anyway. I’ve been reading a book that my sister Sheyl sent me. It’s about diet and touches on cancer prevention. Pretty good, though it’s very strict on what you can and cannot eat. Seems like everything is off limits. But I haven’t gotten very far in the book yet. We’ll see after I read more.

Well, I guess I’l turn in now.

God bless,

Frederick

My PT starts back tomorrow not today like I thought. Oh well :) I still walked the mall and felt pretty good afterwards. My stomach has been bothering me today and I had trouble keeping food down a little earlier this afternoon, but I’m doing really good now.

It’s another beautiful day thank God. The sun is out and it’s not too hot. Fatima (my care giver) and I are having a mellow day. I don’t know if I told you I joined an online support group in the past couple of weeks. My lil’ sister Sheryl found the site for me. It’s call Redtoenail and you leave a post and folks respond with comments to your post. It’s really encouraging. I understand after speaking to a few folks that it’s hard to respond to the Big Fred blog because you have to go through all these prompts, so it’s a hassle. Sorry about that because I’d really like to hear from you. Why don’t we try this, if you’d like to drop me line just send me an e-mail at frobin6579@msn.com. I’d really like to hear from you sometimes.

My sister Sheryl sent me a book on what’s good to eat when you have or are trying prevent cancer. It’s really interesting but kind of harsh. There are a lot of things, seems like everything, you can’t eat. But it might be good to adobt some of the practices. I need to eat healthier. I’ll let you know how it goes.

In the meantime be blessed,

Frederick

Another week begining. Had a great weekend, church was fun. 21 people were baptized this morning. What an event. I’ve just been chilin’ since coming home from service.

I got a chance to work on my recording gear earlier this afternoon. I have some kinks to workout, but it’s coming along. It’s a process that take times. But then, everything does, doesn’t it?

I’ve talked by phone to a number of my family members today. I try to talk to them at least every Sunday. I talk to my mom once a day. All of this helps me stay positive. It’s all about soiid support. Praise the Lord I have that in place. Even my kids are involved. They’re always seeing where they can help out, especially Ericka, the youngest. She’s a great help to her mother and me. I can’t even get up from my chair without her checking up on me.

Well, I start physical therapy Monday (tomorrow) after being off for a month. That’ll help me feel better and should give my body more strength over time. I hope to start going to the gym soon, I need to get more involved with excerise to help my recovery.

I’m looking forward to a great week, hope you have one too. God bless,

Frederick

Well the weather has mellowed out some. Not so hot, but nice just the same. I continue to have good healthy days, no problems. Ericka sang a solo at her school’s choir concert the other night. She sang Joyful Joyful from one of the Sister Act movies. She did really good, her mother and I were so proud of her. She surprised us by not telling us she was singing a solo.

This past week seemed to fly by. I got a lot of reading done by going thru my stacks of magazines, Time and Newsweek. I didn’t realize how many music mags I have. They really add up fast. There is a lot tutorials and stuff in these mags, so I don’t throw them away but collect them. There are a lot of articles on how to best record different instruments, and then the best ways of mixing them.

I look forward to church tomorrow, wonder what pastor will preach on? Just geting together with the congregation will be a blessing. I don’t call folks enough. That needs to change in the future.
I’m supposed to get together with my son Frederick soon. That’ll be a blessing because we don’t get together very often. He’s found some special healthy tea for me to try. It’s supposed to help me with my cancer. So I’ll give it a try. It’ll give us a chance to catch up and hopefully draw closer to one another.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend in Christ Jesus,

Frederick
